Meet 7Star DJ Naughty
7Star DJ’s is one of the fast growing DJ groups in Second Life. I had a chance to interview 7Star DJ Naughty to talk with her about music and DJing.
Cherry Baskein: Why did you become a DJ?
7Star DJ Naughty: I became a DJ because I love music and I also use music as an outlet and it’s a way for me to vent at times. Also, I was being stood up by DJs that just never show up when you need them... So, I decided to try it out, I loved it and I can't see myself not DJing. What I have learned from this experience is never to limit myself, keep an open mind, and always think outside the box.
Cherry Baskein: How long have you been Djing?
7Star DJ Naughty:I have been a DJ for over three years.
Cherry Baskein: What is your DJ catch phrase?
7Star DJ Naughty: Its Naughty time!
Cherry Baskein: How did you choose your DJ Name?
7Star DJ Naughty: My name DJ Naughty was chosen by my fans after I DJ for the very first time at Club Naughty.
Cherry Baskein: What or who is your favorite musical influence?
7Star DJ Naughty: Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson they made people move and I loved that. I also been around enough DJ’s in my Second Life family who influenced and motivated me in so many ways, they pushed me to keep doing what I'm doing. Their honest opinions (telling me when I really sucked) made me challenge myself to be better.
Cherry Baskein: What is your most memorable set?
7Star DJ Naughty: My most memorable set was my very first set ever it was not planned, just a spur of the moment. I was scared as hell and felt very uncomfortable; I sucked badly and didn't know what I was doing. Everyone loved it, they cheered me on and they encouraged me to keep going.
Cherry Baskein: What is your personal favorite song and why?
7Star DJ Naughty: My personal favorite song would be "Don't want to miss a thing - Aerosmith" I love the lyrics and the beat, something about that song makes you feel whatever is deep inside you.
Cherry Baskein: What genre of music do you play?
7Star DJ Naughty: The genre's I play are "Reggae& Dancehall , Soca, Hip-hop , R&B, Slow jams, Funk & Disco ,Soul , Oldies 70s,80s,90s, House, Dubstep". Still adding to this list!
Cherry Baskein: What city do you DJ from?
7Star DJ Naughty: I DJ from the west coast - Los Angeles California, where I have been living for the past fifteen years, I was born and raised in "Belize Central America" with strong Caribbean roots...
